Portuguese born in Alentejo,
Margarida’s talent was recognized at a very young age for her warm voice. Already in 1991 Margarida
was invited to perform in one of her most important concerts of her career opening for the Fado Star Amalia
Rodrigues. In 1997 she was awarded the prestigious price Amália Clube de Fado in Lisbon.
In 2002 Margarida records her first album “Sal e Mel” that prepares her for
the second Cd “ENCORES FADO - Live” released in 2007. During her extensive career Margarida
was featured in many Fado Compilations and participated to international music festivals including: El Hatilho (Venezuela)
, Fado Flamenco (Spain), Folk Segovia Festival (Spain), Ollinkan Festival (Mexico), Stricly Mondial - Montreal
(Canada), Chambers Guitar Festival (Slovenia), Festival 7 Sois 7 Luas (Espanha, França, Croácia, Itália,
Israel)… Today Margarida
is considered one of the finest singers in the Portuguese music industry.
